Year 7 and 10 Immunisation Program

Dear Parents and Carers,

In Year 7, students are offered free vaccines for diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV). In Year 10, students are offered the meningococcal ACWY vaccine. Vaccination will only be provided at school if consent has been received. Please see the dates below:

Year 7: Term 1, Week 5, Monday, 27th February

Year 10: Term 2, Week 5, Friday 26th May

Change to single dose – HPV vaccine
From February 2023, children in Year 7 (aged 12-13) will be offered a single dose course of HPV vaccine at school vaccination clinics.

Previously, students were offered two doses of the HPV vaccine in the NSW school vaccination program. The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has reviewed recent international evidence and has advised that a single dose of the HPV vaccine gives the same protection as two dose course.

How to provide consent:

  1. To complete online consent for your child’s school vaccinations, visit: https://nswhealth.service-now.com/school
  2. Click the login with ‘Service NSW Account’ button and log in using your Service NSW details. This is the same account you may already use to renew your driver’s license. If you don’t have a Service NSW account, refer to Service NSW to create one.
  3. Update or confirm your personal details in Service NSW as required.
  4. Complete the School Vaccination Consent Form for your child/ren. You will need to:

a) Enter your child’s personal details

d) Provide consent

If you or your child do not have a Medicare card, consent can still be provided by requesting a paper-based consent form directly from your child’s school.
