The Role
Edmund Rice College is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time suitably qualified and highly experienced Director of Studies to join the College Leadership Team (CLT) in Term 3: 2023, or by negotiation.
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, the Director of Studies leads and manages the College’s curriculum and encompasses responsibility for the academic care of all students within the College. The Director of Studies has management in areas affecting the academic program of the College, including academic organisation, guidance and compliance. In conjunction with other CLT members, the Director of Studies works collaboratively in regards to specific directions in pedagogy and curriculum pertaining to secondary education, consistent with the overall vision for teaching and learning at the College.
This role will work collaboratively and support a range of internal and external stakeholders within the Edmund Rice College community, ensuring careful stewardship of the College’s resources.
This position requires flexibility in working hours and will require work at times, outside of school hours to ensure the effective operation of the College.
About You
The successful candidate will be a highly experienced operator who can lead the curriculum and academic care functions on behalf of the College.
To be considered for this position, you must be a highly dedicated professional who meets the following criteria:
- An education degree from an approved and recognised tertiary institution
- Post-graduate qualifications in a curriculum area or educational leadership is desirable
- Experience in school information systems (SIS) would be an advantage
- Be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven organisational skills, including multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, whilst supporting multiple stakeholders
- High level of expertise in computer applications, particularly Google platforms
- High ethical standards, confidentiality and integrity
- An excellent understanding of the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) compliance requirements and processes
- Commitment to the Edmund Rice values and ethos of the College
- Willingness to support the Catholic ethos and learning culture of the College
- Possess a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- A commitment to the child safeguarding principles
