Community

Engaging

At the cornerstone of an education is personal growth in character. Faith, compassion, solidarity and service underpin our teachings. Our aim is to engage with all aspects of our community in order to build a place where we all belong.

As an inclusive community, we welcome members from all faiths and backgrounds. Inspired by our Catholic Christian culture and the teachings of Jesus, we instil an understanding of the inherent value of each person by embracing openness, respect and dignity.

At the forefront of our commitment to acting with service, each student is engaged in the Christian Service & Solidarity Learning Program (CSL). Through volunteering their time to help others, students begin to understand the value of selfless acts and the power of contributing to a community. A significant aspect of our Pastoral Care Program is also devoted to understanding issues in our local communities such as homelessness, poverty, refugees and the environment.

Our College is committed to strengthening relationships with our First Nations community. Alongside our First Nations Education Officer, we are working together to further enhance the pride of our First Nations students by offering them unique opportunities to deepen their knowledge and understanding of culture and country. Our students are also engaged in numerous activities that build on respect and understanding, including dedicated spiritual days focusing on cultural awareness of First Nations people, and the annual Year 12 Reconciliation AFL match.

The families of our students are also integral to the success of our College. Clear communication between home and school is delivered through our regular Teacher and Parent conferences, and our online digital channels. We have a dedicated and passionate Parents and Friends Association who work tirelessly to host many functions, including the popular Mothers’ Day High Tea, and breakfast for our fathers and male caregivers.
