During this Term, the Year 11 Pastoral Care classes are developing their understanding of their Pastoral Theme ‘Honour One Another.’ After a visit to the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple and the Berkeley Islamic Mosque last week, we gathered on Tuesday to experience a liturgy that challenged each person to consider how service is a critical aspect of leadership at Edmund Rice College. We understand that each person can be successful when they put their mind to a task and that some of us have particular talents. However, our focus this year is on lifting each other up and on ensuring that we support those who need it. This will help us to experience the kind of success that comes with faith in God, faith in ourselves and faith in others. Our Reflection Day on Friday will build on this theme and we will start the process of nomination for College leaders soon. It has been a privilege to work with the Year 11 group in these ways and see how they are growing as a cohort.
