Old Boys Bring the Beat Back to Primary School Band Tours

We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to some special individuals who recently made our primary school band tours truly memorable. We are referring to the “old boys” who returned to be a part of our Stage Band performances.

Our first performance at Gwynneville public school featured Joel, Zac, and Matthew, who graduated as part of the recent class of 2022. These talented musicians contributed their skills on bass, guitar, and keyboard, respectively, and helped create an unforgettable sound. Their presence was inspiring for our current students and reminded them of the magic that can be created when talented musicians come together.

Our second performance this year was also very special, as we were thrilled to have Tom, a former student from the class of 2014, join us on stage. Tom is now a primary school teacher at St Patrick’s, Port Kembla and it was a privilege to have him back performing with the Stage Band playing drums. Tom performed “Nutbush City Limits” and “Wipeout” – which he executed with amazing skill and precision.

The experience of having these ex-students perform with our current students was a rewarding and nostalgic one for all involved. It was a testament to how important being a member of our Stage Band was to these boys when they were students, and it demonstrated the strong bonds and connections that can be formed through music.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Joel, Zac, Matthew, and Tom for their contributions to our Stage Band performances. We are grateful for the time and effort they put into performing with our current students and for sharing their musical talents with us.

Thank you to these “old boys,” for making our primary school band tours unforgettable!
