The Opens Basketball boys travelled to Port Macquarie to compete at the NSWCCC Championships. On the way up we unfortunately met our first challenge, with the bus breaking down right in front of a petrol station. Thankfully we were able to overcome this hardship and get back on the road, and arrive at the hotel.

Our first game was a close loss to MCR, with a good effort from the boys. Our next game was a loss to St. Dominic’s College but we came back with a great win against Port Macquarie later that afternoon. Early the next morning we matched up with St. Francis Xavier College who were a tough matchup, which resulted in a big loss. Finally we met Tamworth in our last pool game, we finished off the tournament with a nail-biting win that put us at a respectable record of 2-3 on the week.

We thank Mr Jackson and our Coach Mr Macdonald for sacrificing their time for the Basketball Team. It was an unforgettable experience and the boys had a fantastic time!
