My Future Matters Program at UOW

On Tuesday the 15th November, our First Nations students from Years 7 -10 attended the University of Wollongong for the inaugural My Future matters Program.

On the day, First Nations students from around the Illawarra attended to participate in taster sessions of University life including, music and film production, medicine, engineering and sciences.

Students were welcomed on the day by Aunty Joyce and got the opportunity to meet UOW academics, professional staff and current undergraduate and postgraduate students. The day concluded with students actively participating in cultural activities with community members including traditional dances, fire making, painting and learning how to make damper.

Edmund Rice would like to thank the staff at the Woolyungah Indigenous Centre for hosting this day and providing our students the opportunity to connect with community and culture.
