On Thursday 11th May we recognised Mother’s Day 2023 with our annual P&F Mother’s Day High Tea.
As we know, Mother’s Day is an occasion which is celebrated in various parts of the world to express our respect, dedication and love towards our mothers.
At Edmund Rice College, our students were able to showcase their appreciation of their Mothers and Grandmothers by attending an afternoon Mother’s Day High Tea with them in the ERC Centre catered by our current Year 11 Hospitality Students. This event was hosted by the Year 11 Hospitality Class to acknowledge the contribution of our mothers, grandmothers and significant women in our lives, as well as the role of these women in our school community.
The Year 11 hospitality students, accompanied by Staff members, Mr Donovan Pierro, Mrs Sheree McDonell, Mr Kris Sjostedt, Ms Sheree Codey, Miss Rebecca McLean, Mr Andrew Brooks and Mr Geoff Volk were able to assist our young men to cater for and serve over 400 in attendance.
The Year 11 Hospitality Students High Tea catering spread included a mezze platter with various small finger foods, sausage rolls and quiches, scones and a variety of sweets mad by our students, including shortbread cookies and red velvet cupcakes. The cherry on top of the afternoon, was that all guests were served with a warm welcomed smile. We would like to extend our thanks to the Year 11 Hospitality students for being such great ambassadors of our College throughout the day.
Mother’s Day is a day you get to show your mother how grateful you are that she is in your life. Last week the Edmund Rice Community did just that.
