ERC Updates

From the Director of Pastoral Care & Wellbeing

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As you are aware, last week we marked Are You Ok Day? with a series of activities in Homeroom. Last week I was able to share with you a snapshot of the data and am pleased now to be able to share this with you more fully.

This data is a wonderful affirmation of the role that you as parents have played and continue to play in the support of your sons. As a College we feel very privileged to share this journey with you. This week we were pleased to be able to host the Accidental Counsellor for Parents presented By Rocky Biasi. We were delighted to have over 100 people in attendance for this Zoom. For those of you who were unable to attend the live Zoom session I am pleased to provide you here with a link to the recording of this session that you will be able to access for the next 25 days.

It is also pleasing that many parents have taken up the opportunity to enrol in the Raising Resilience course for parents, which will be launched on October 1, to coincide with Mental Health Month. There are still a small number of places left in this course free of charge for those who are keen to participate, however, have not yet enrolled. Once these spaces have been filled the cost of the course will revert to $48. The Raising Resilience Course invites families to watch a short 3-4 minute daily video, then take on the achievable action step for the day. Families will find it engaging and fun, easy to achieve but profound in the difference it makes for the wellbeing of each family member.

This week’s Parenting Ideas article is “Everyday resilience lessons for kids” by Michael Grose which has some great advice for parents.

I wish you and your family a very happy, healthy and restful holiday.

Mrs Hughes
