ERC Updates

From the Deputy Principal

GRADUATION WEEK

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2022. A significant celebration of events throughout last week occurred, culminating in a wonderful ceremony at the end of the week involving family and friends. Each of these significant events can not go ahead without the tremendous support, generosity of time, effort and hard work of every individual involved. Not having been able to witness these events last year due to the pandemic, it was definitely a wonderful experience to be involved. Thanks to Mr Cajar and Mrs Hughes who arranged for the students to cater at the AFL reconciliation match. To also witness other celebrations like the football match, Year 12 Chess games v Staff all culminate in a week of finishing well.

COVID-19 UPDATE

As you may have heard, recently the National Cabinet announced some changes to isolation rules for positive COVID-19 cases, which has now come into effect.

For the ERC community, these changes see the isolation period for positive COVID-19 cases reducing from 7 days to 5 days on the following conditions:

  1. Complete 5 days of isolation from the date of testing positive.
  2. After 5 days of isolation, be symptom-free before returning to school (if symptoms remain, follow NSW Health guidelines to self-isolate, etc).
  3. On both Day 6 and Day 7 –
    (i) complete a rapid antigen test (RAT) and return a negative result before attending school, and
(ii) wear a mask when attending school.

NSW Health is currently updating the relevant NSW Public Health Order to reflect these changes.
