On the 16th of March, Edmund Rice College held its annual Surfing Competition at North Beach, Wollongong. Despite the early signs of rain the day presented with very contestable conditions and the promise for better waves as the tide rose. 38 students participated in the competition – the most number of participants to date!
The day consisted of 6 Heats, 2 Semi Finals, 2 Grand Finals and over 200 waves caught! Throughout the day there was excellent surfing skill and ability on show from students ranging from Year 7 to Year 12. Congratulations to Jack Wilson who took out the Junior Division and to Harrison Agnew who won the Open’s Division.
