The Diocesan of Wollongong Swimming Carnival was held on Thursday, 17 March 2022, at Corrimal Pool. The sun was finally out for the event, after what had felt like an eternity of wet weather and cancellations!
The ERC Swim Team were primed and ready to defend their Champion Boys School Trophy from 2021. There were some sensational results from the team, with records being broken, age champions crowned and multiple students gaining selection into the Diocesan Team!
Records Broken:
- Alistair Gorgijovski Open Boys 50m Breaststroke
- Alistair Gorgijovski Open Boys 100m Breaststroke
- Boys 4x Senior Medley Relay
- Boys 4x Senior Freestyle Relay (this record was from 2002) -They beat it by 3 seconds! (Alistair Gorgijoski, Jake Potter, Lachlan Cole and Ben Giason).
Gold Medal Winners:
- Drew Potter U12 Backstroke
- Lachlan Cole 17+ 50m & 100m Freestyle
- Alistair Gorgijovski 17+ 50m & 100m Breaststroke
- All Age Relay 50m Freestyle
- Open Boys 4x50m Freestyle Relay & 50m Medley Relay
Age Champion Placings:
- Drew Potter U12 1st Place
- Max Miller U13 2nd Place
- Jack Wilson U16 3rd Place
- Alistair Gorgijovski 17+ 3rd Place
Diocesan Team Representatives:
Drew Potter, Max Miller, Jack Manns, Jack Wilson, Jake Potter, Lachlan Cole, Jayden Beaumont, Ben Giason and Alistair Gorgijovski.
From these outstanding results the team came away with the Boys Champion Swimming School trophy for 2022.
