The Junior team participated in the Diocesan Gala Day on Wednesday at Dalton Park and performed very well and were unlucky not to finish victorious.

In their pool matches they were off to a flyer scoring 2/81 against St Joseph’s Albion Park 0/46 in game one. In their second match ERC 4/64 were easy victors after restricting St John’s Nowra 3/30.

In their third pool match they again started well scoring 1/81 against Magdalene College. Unfortunately bowling was not as tidy and they had more powerful hitters scoring 4/84 with balls to spare.

Going into their last pool match they quickly returned to the winners circle knocking up 0/109 and destroying St Benedict’s 6/42.
To finish the day the boys played against John Terry Campbelltown to claim third place in the competition by defending their score of 2/105 and restricting their opposition to 2/75.

Overall it was great to be on the field and seeing all the boys have a great day. Each player having a bat and scoring plenty of runs. The bowling and fielding was difficult playing on postage stamp size ovals due to the nature and format of the game being a Super 8 Gala Game bowling 7 overs with shorten runups. So there were a lot of sixes hit by the ERC lads. Congratulations to each member of the team playing in a friendly and sportsmanship way. It was a pleasure to manage the team and wish them the best of luck in the Berg Competition. On behalf of the team we thank Mr West and the parents who assisted in the scoring during the day as this was greatly appreciated.
