Congratulations to our Year 7 Debating team of Jonathan Bendeich, Izac Lavis, Isaac Mitrevski and, Daniel Morozov, who have been successful in winning the Catholic Schools Debating Association State Championship. After our regional Debating Days earlier in the term, our Year 7 Team competed against St Mary’s to make the Regional Finals. The Year 9 Debate Team and the Year 7 Debaters competed against Mount St Patrick’s College Murwillumbah for the Country Finals. Our Year 9 team lost narrowly, however, our Year 7 Debaters won to be crowned Country Champions. They backed up this victory a few hours later to win against St Andrew’s on the topic “That we need to be connected to be entertained.” Thank you to Max Booyar-Rybak who helped train the boys. Well done to all of our teams on an amazing season.
