The College Athletics Carnival was held on Friday 22 July at the Kerryn McCann Athletics Track. The carnival is usually a whole school event, however due to the wet weather and the conditions of the council grounds, it had to be modified to a competitors only event. 235 students participated in traditional track events, along with long jump and high jump.
The day started off with the 1500m runners competing in the rain, while the other students were rugged up in the grandstand hoping for the clouds to clear! And their hopes were answered, with patches of blue sky starting to appear! For the remainder of the carnival the rain stayed away, much to the delight of the competitors, teachers and student volunteers!
Some highlights of the day include Chase Grant breaking the 100m & 200m record for the U15s, and Cooper Morrison storming home in the hotly contested U14 100m final. Not to mention our Year 12 volunteers and SRC leaders who were supporting the competitors from start to finish.
