Last Thursday and Friday our new Year 7 students participated in an orientation activity in the library. By the end of the experience students were able to locate fiction and non-fiction books using our library management system Destiny Discover. Students can log in at any time from anywhere to view our resources, favourite them, and even renew book due dates if they’re loving a book and not ready to return it yet.
Students know they are welcome to come in during recess and lunch times to read, play chess, and ask for help with homework, assessments and printing. We offer teacher support during Homework Club every afternoon from 2.05 pm until 2.55 pm.
By the time students concluded the experience, they had completed a quiz earning points for their house, received a house coloured tag for their bags, and borrowed a book.
House point results:
Crown 115 points McMahon 149 points Waterford 186 points Rice 191 points Keira 204 points Ignatius 209 points |
Congratulations to the winning house Ignatius!
Welcome to our new Year 7 students, it was a pleasure meeting you all and we look forward to working with you this year.
