Diocesan Swimming Carnival 2023

Edmund Rice College once again were School Boys Champions at the Diocesan Swimming Carnival held at Corrimal Pool on Friday 10th March. Our participants did the College proud both in their incredible individual and team results; but also through their sportsmanship and encouragement of each other throughout the day.

The team came away with a massive 10- first placings, 11- second placings and 12- third placings. A highlight of the day was once again the All Age relay, led by Jake Potter consisting of Drew, Jye, Oliver, Harry and Darcy who had a massive win and defended their title again this year.

Congratulations to some standout individual results for Year 7 students Drew Nugent who was awarded 1st Place 12 Year boys Age Champion and Cameron Browne who was awarded 1st Place 13 Years Boys Age Champion.

We also must congratulate Jake Potter (Year 12) on a successful 6 years representing the College in swimming throughout his time at Edmund Rice College.

The following students have been selected to represent the Wollongong Diocese and compete at the Combined Catholic Colleges Championship at the end of March in Homebush. We wish all the boys another successful meet: Oliver Johnston, Max Miller, Darcy Norris, Christian Humphries, Jake Potter, Josh Beaumont, Cameron Browne, Brock Davies, Harry Fraser, Drew Nugent, Jye Prem and Jack Wilson.

1st Place – All age Freestyle Relay: Drew Nugent, Jye Prem, Oliver Johnson, Harry Fraser, Darcy Norris and Jake Potter
1st Place- senior Freestyle: Brock Davies, Christian Humphries, Jack Wilson and Jake Potter.

Drew Nugent (12yrs): 3rd Place 50m Freestyle, 2nd Place 50m Butterfly, 2nd Place 50m Breaststroke, 2nd Place 100m Freestyle, 2nd Place 50m Backstroke.

Jye Prem (13yrs): 1st Place 50m Freestyle, 1st Place 100m Freestyle.

Cameron Browne (13yrs): 2nd Place 50m Freestyle, 1st Place 50m Butterfly, 3rd Place 50m Breaststroke, 2nd Place 50m Backstroke.

Max Miller (14 yrs): 1st Place 50m Butterfly, 3rd 100m Backstroke, 1st Place 100m Butterfly.
