Year 7 Geography – Minnamurra Rainforest Excursion

Last week, Year 7 Geography classes visited Minnamurra Rainforest in Budderoo National Park. The students enjoyed using a range of geographical tools to examine biophysical factors and then listened to a presentation about the history and management of the park. They learned about the amazing red cedars which are hundreds of years old and highly valued for their timber, as well as the diamond python and ubiquitous lyrebirds which call Minnamurra Rainforest their home. The highlight of the day was a guided walk where the students bounced across the wooden suspension bridge and the close up view of a giant strangler fig.
