UOW 2022 School based Apprenticeship at UOW

School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SBATs) are more than just part-time jobs – they’re a great way to set yourself up for the career you are passionate about whilst you are completing your HSC.

SBAT’s are available to all Year 10, 11 and 12 high school students in NSW. They allow students to commence an apprenticeship or complete a traineeship while at school.

A school-based apprenticeship or traineeship combines paid work, training and school; and as well as an industry recognised national qualification you will gain credit towards the HSC.

Some apprenticeships and traineeships can contribute towards the ATAR.

In 2021 our college also participated in this program. We have 4 students who are actively and successfully completing this pathway.

Next year we will have a number of students participating in this great program at ERC.

Darnell Wright (Pictured) has been successful in gaining an apprenticeship in Electrotechnology through the University of Wollongong. This position was highly contended and we congratulate Darnell for his success.
