On Thursday the 22nd of June the Edmund Rice College Year 7-10 team travelled to Judy Masters Oval, Balgownie for the group stage of the NSWCCC Football Qualifiers. The opening fixture against local rivals Holy Spirit College was a nail biter of a game which went to a penalty shootout. The brave Edmund Rice boys stood their ground and won the shootout thanks to goalkeeper Andre Dzeparoski saving a shot into the bottom right hand corner.

This set the tone for the final fixture against Corpus Christi which ended 5-0 in favour of Edmund Rice College. Well done to all the players on the day who not only showcased their talent but also true character in representing the College in such a professional manner. This team now progresses to the Quarter Finals of the NSWCCC Football tournament where they will come up against the winners of the Parramatta Diocese. We wish them the best of luck and look forward to seeing them progress further in this competition.
