Thank you to the large numbers of dads and grandads who were able to join us this morning for the P&F-organised breakfast. It was a great atmosphere and a wonderful way to celebrate as a community. I wish all the fathers, grandfathers and father figures in our lives a very happy Father’s Day for this weekend, and on behalf of the College community, I offer them the following prayer.
God our Father, we give You thanks and praise for fathers young and old.
We pray for young fathers, newly embracing their vocation; may they find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice.
We pray for our own fathers who have supported and challenged us; may they continue
to lead in strong and gentle ways.
We pray for fathers around the world whose children are lost or suffering; may they
know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow.
We pray for men who are not fathers but still mentor and caringly guide us with
fatherly love and advice.
We remember fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers who are no longer with us
but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love.
I would like to commend our Year 12 students for the manner in which they continue to work steadfastly in maximising each lesson, each day of these final weeks before they graduate from the College. Students are currently applying the feedback from their results of the recent HSC Trial examinations to ensure they maximise their learning between now and the HSC examinations early next Term. I also would like to congratulate those students who have recently completed their HSC major work projects in Industrial Technology – Timber and Metal – for their outstanding projects that are currently displayed in the Edmund Rice Centre. Last night was also the Opening of the Annual Years 7-12 Visual Arts Exhibition, with a range of HSC major Artworks on display. The Creative Arts are such an important medium for our boys to be able to express themselves. The wide-ranging talents of our senior students are a remarkable testament to their sustained commitment to striving for excellence and a credit to the expertise of our specialised teachers – well done to all!
The recent ERC Gala Fundraising Dinner, hosted by the P&F, was hugely successful. The many parents in attendance were yet another reminder of how blessed we each are to be part of such a vibrantly caring community. The dinner raised well over $6500 for the #talk2mebro organisation for men’s mental health and suicide prevention. On behalf of everyone, I would like to sincerely thank the organising committee of Anna Tomasiello, Cath Chard, Hayley Ashe, Ally Thelan, Katrina Sinclair, Michelle Horobin and Francis Fenech for their generous leadership of this great event. As I mentioned to the audience who attended the dinner, I have never known of such a supportive, generous and energised P&F association who each so selflessly contribute to a College community. Any parents or carers who are interested in joining this valued group are always very welcome.
The Parents and Friends would like to thank everyone that attended the Father’s Day Breakfast and donating to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. We raised $336.85 but the P&F will top that up to a $500 donation.
A very big thank you to all our parent helpers who helped with the set up from 5am this morning. Rob & Anna Tomasiello, Francis Fenech, Katrina Sinclair, Stacey Elston, Afaf Mekhaael, Michael Jennett, James Steele, Adri Clark, Fiona Carolan, Cathy Hicks & Jenny Jancetic. Thank you to the groundsmen and the cleaner who also helped us setup.
Thank you to the office staff who helped leading up to the morning, especially Ann Preston.
Thank you to Rob from Grandma Rosie’s Unanderra for donating the eggs, onions and sliced bread for our breakfast. Thank you to Murphy’s Coffee Van for making all the coffees.
All the photos that were taken today are on the ERC P&F Facebook Page.
To all our Dads we would like to wish you all a very Happy Fathers Day.

Change in Student/Family Circumstances/Contact Information/Medical Conditions
If any change has occurred/occurs in your family – separation, divorce, serious illness, the College should be notified as soon as possible. The College seeks to be supportive of families in such circumstances and such events always have a bearing on a child’s education. Likewise, a change of address, email or phone number (work, home or mobile) or emergency contact should be advised immediately.
If your son suffers from a medical condition it is vital that you inform the office of his condition and what treatment is required in an emergency. An emergency management plan must be developed for any students with serious conditions.
