Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to congratulate our students for the positive way in which they have returned to campus and so quickly reconnected with their teachers and peers. It was wonderful to see the many smiles from students and to see how quickly they have settled back into class. This week is another reminder of ERC’s friendly learning atmosphere and is a testament to all of our students, staff, and parents.

Today Year 12 students completed their schooling after a very challenging time. The class of 2021 will always be remembered for their resilient commitment to each other. They completed courses while adjusting to the changing scheduled dates of the trials and the HSC and effectively adapted to online exams whilst submitting all major works on time. This was despite the various constraints the pandemic presented. Thank you to Year 12 Coordinator, Mr Preeo and the Year 12 teachers for their steadfast support of students. We congratulate Year 12 not only for their leadership example of service to the younger students of the College but also for their wide-ranging talents and achievements in both learning and co-curricular pursuits. The incredibly high success rate of our Year 12 students gaining early entry to University, along with the numbers of senior students gaining apprenticeships, is something our whole school community can celebrate.
Year 12 now commences a home study period leading up to the Higher School Certificate examinations, which begin on Tuesday 9th November. With the recently updated guidelines from Catholic Schools NSW, the Year 12 Graduation Assembly event has been scheduled after the final HSC exam on Thursday, December 2nd. We look forward to formally celebrating the graduating class of 2021 with our parents and Year 12 students.

Today is World Teachers’ Day. Appropriately, the theme for World Teachers’ Day 2021 is “Teachers: Leading in crisis, re-imagining the future”. The United Nations (UNESCO) presented this theme for teacher’s day regarding their determined efforts in providing continuity of learning throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. I wish to acknowledge and graciously thank the dedicated teachers of ERC for their ongoing commitment to our young people. Thank you to the Parents and Friends Association and the student leaders for their very thoughtful gestures of thanks.
