Careers

Edmund Rice College takes a proactive approach to help students manage the transition from school to the next stage of life. As their personal insight grows, they discover career pathways aligned to their interests and values. Our young men step forward with career planning skills, decision-making capabilities and awareness of their gifts.

Our Career Advisors provide professional advice and current information on career options, tertiary education and training pathways. Opportunities include careers lessons in Year 10; Work Experience; excursions to Careers Expos; University of Wollongong Discovery Days; guest speakers; resume building; interview skills; and individual interviews. This is all underpinned by intensive career counselling in their senior years.

The College offers vocational pathways for students interested in apprenticeships and traineeships. Students seeking traineeships benefit greatly from connections with our Old Boys network and the College’s strong reputation with employers in the Illawarra region.

The College’s newsletter also carries weekly Careers information.
