LEARNING & WELLBEING

Learning and Wellbeing Framework

The Edmund Rice College Learning and Wellbeing Framework recognises the importance of student voice and the development of confident and resilient learners. This is supported through the development of positive learning behaviours and a growth mindset for our students to flourish.

We cultivate habits and attitudes that enable our students to become better learners, face challenges and uncertainty calmly, confidently and creatively. We see our students develop greater concentration and focus, deeper thinking and an enjoyment of learning.

At Edmund Rice College, our students are immersed in relevant, dynamic learning and an atmosphere of high-quality teaching – enabling them to become lifelong learners.

The four EREA Touchstones are embedded within the four dimensions of the Framework, which include Respectful Relationships, Quality Learning & Teaching, Building Resilience and Formation for Learning.

As a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice Tradition and in the spirit of Jesus as a liberating educator, we respect the dignity of each young person entrusted in our care and commit ourselves to knowing their story as a person and a learner.

Literacy & Numeracy

Edmund Rice College is committed to improving the literacy and numeracy outcomes of all students.

We are committed to improving the literacy and numeracy skills of all students. Our literacy and numeracy improvement program, ‘Literacy Matters & Numeracy Counts’, has a significant impact by tracking student achievement, student interventions and continuous staff training.

Our students have achieved excellent NAPLAN results in recent years.

Goal Setting

Each year, our students set academic and personal goals. Setting goals enables our students to increase motivation, maintain focus and reach for their personal best.
