UOW Science & Engineering Challenge

Your son has been selected to represent Edmund Rice College at the Illawarra and South East Science and Engineering Challenge organised by the University of Wollongong.
Students will be involved in group problem solving activities using technology and equipment not normally available in the school situation. They will be combining with St Mary Star of the Sea College to compete against teams from a variety of secondary schools from the Illawarra and Southern Sydney area.
Details of the Challenge are as follows:
DATE: Wednesday, 29th July 2015
TIME: 9.00am – 3.00pm (approximately)
UNIFORM: College winter uniform
LUNCH: It is required that students bring their lunch with them. The lunch break is only half an hour and the facilities at the university can become quite crowded with the large number of school students present as well as university students.
TRANSPORT: Students are required to provide their own transport to and from the venue.
SUPERVISION: Mrs Timmins
REQUIREMENTS: Writing equipment and a clipboard / notebook.
Photos will be taken on the day for use in promoting and advertising future events. Please indicate on the Permission Slip below if you DO NOT want photographs of your son taken.
Students will be required to meet at 9.00am at the main entrance to the University Hall, (map attached). Presentations and the awarding of the Challenge Trophy will commence at approximately 2.30pm. Parents are most welcome to attend these presentations. Estimated finishing time will be 3.00pm.
Please complete and return the Permission Slip to Mrs Timmins by Monday, 27th July.
