Welcome to the Edmund Rice College website. I trust that in browsing this website you gain some insight into this wonderful inclusive Catholic community.
I was appointed to the College as Principal in 2012, returning to Edmund Rice College after 32 years in a range of teaching and leadership roles in state and Catholic schools in Sydney and the Illawarra since my days as a student at the College in the 1970’s.
Edmund Rice College is an independent Catholic boys school in the Edmund Rice tradition, catering for students in Years 7 to 12. Striving to live the charism of Edmund Rice and Christ’s example of service, we ask students to ‘Make a Difference for Justice and Peace’ through the Christian Service- Learning program. Inspired by the goals of the Edmund Rice Charter, it is more than a service experience, as reflecting on the act of serving others gives students a deeper understanding of the dignity and worth of all people and the natural world. They are challenged to articulate learning about their own spirituality as they make real-life connections to the marginalized in our ‘community classroom’.
